Latest ski goggles let you chat and ride handsfree
Monday, 20 February 2012 19:49
Fed up of missing calls from your mates on the slopes because you couldn’t get to your mobile in time through all your layers? It’s just one of the struggles of modern life, but it need bug you no more thanks to the new Buhel SpeakGoggle G33.
These futuristic goggles connect to your mobile phone via Bluetooth and feature a bone conduction mic integrated into the frame that translates speech using the vibrations from your nose.
The advantage of bone conduction is that it blocks outside noise, so you can be swooshing down the slopes and still have an audible conversation with your friend.
A pair of earphones is included with the SpeakGoggle G33, and they connect right into the goggles so you don’t end up tangled in long wires running from your phone to your ears. And if you so wish, and your phone plays music or your MP3 player is Bluetooth-enabled, you can listen to music through the goggles (not that we’d condone riding with both ears plugged in).

To control those pressing phone calls, large buttons on the exterior of the goggles allow for easy pick ups and hang ups and voice dialling is supporting, providing it’s a feature on your phone. Battery life should last for 10 hours of music playback and 12 hours of talk time.
As yet, no prices are available, but the frames come in white, metallic silver or black with anti-fog, anti-scratch lenses with UV400 protection. For the man who has everything, now there are handsfree goggles.
