A team of British women training for Sweden's largest women-only cross country ski race is offering free roller skiing lessons in locations across the UK.
Roller Skis LogoThe Rolling SkiFit team, based in Surrey and Shropshire, is competing in the Tjejavan, a 30 kilometre cross country ski race on February, 23.

The race, which is billed as the all-female version of the Vasaloppet, in which Pippa Middleton competed last year, attracts around 8000 women and takes place in Siljan, in central Sweden.

Whilst in the UK the team, which is made up of experienced cross country racers and total beginners, is using roller skis to prepare for the race. The SKIGO roller skis allow the women to train without actually being on snow, a technique used by most cross competitive country skiers during the off-season.

Sponsored by Salomon and Craft the Rolling SkiFIT team is following a tough fitness programme and is now offering free tuition for anyone interested in learning to roller ski.

Taster session will take place in locations across Surrey and Shropshire from the beginning of February. For further information contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or contact 01293 825 025.
