StarWars_YodasRigletPark1If you need a little Jedi power to get your young child into snowboarding, head to Sierra at Tahoe in California, where a Burton Star Wars snow park has opened.

The latest collaboration for Burton, the park is one of its Riglet Parks, which are specially designed for kids aged three to six years old. The Burton Star Wars park is full of Star Wars themes and characters to introduce youngsters to the sport of snowboarding.

Open until the end of the season, the Burton Star Wars Experience combines Burton’s Learn To Ride hardgoods, teaching systems and Riglet Park features with Jedi Master Yoda’s methods of balance, movement and control.

StarWars_JarJarAt the opening party which focused around the film Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace (recently released in 3D), there were Star Wars-themed crafts, free instruction and the chance to be pictured with Storm Troopers, Yoda and R2-D2.

In the park, kids as young as three can learn to snowboard with the help of Burton’s Riglet Reel, a specially designed strap and hook attached to the nose of youth snowboards, that helps with balance, movement and control. Adults can pull their kids around using the Riglet Reel, helping them to get used to standing sideways.

The Burton Star Wars Experience at Sierra at Tahow is a full-day experience that includes the Burton Riglet Reel technology equipment rental, lunch and plenty of interaction with Yoda and his intergalactic friends for $135 a day (or $81 with a discount card).
