Italian resort Cortina D'Ampezzo is set to stage a chocolate-themed winter sport extravaganza next month including what is thought to be the world's first 'chocolate ski race'.

Eurochocolate Ski will run from 16th to 19th December 2010 and is being held as part of the Eurochocolate Festival, an international chocolate festival being held at altitude for the first time this year.

'Eurochocolate Ski offers high-quality, pleasurable chocolate experiences directly on the slopes,' said a resort spokesperson.

The chocolate experiences continue off the slopes as well. The event will see a whole host of chocolate-themed activities including a chocolate slalom, chocolate curling, markets selling worldwide chocolate delicacies, exhibitions dedicated to chocolate, an educational chocolate experience for children, chocolate-tasting classes for adults, chocolate spa and beauty treatments, and much more.
