ischgl snow fall AustriaCalifornia received bug early season snowfalls and there's more snow on the way for Europe as the season gets off to a bumper start.

USA Snow Report

Winter is definitely back state side, with the west coast California resorts taking a big hit this week. Mammoth, which opens in November 7th, received 13 inches this week and the Lake Tahoe ski resorts reported up to three feet of snow, with Northstar receiving 18-hours of snowfall on Tuesday. Heavenly and Northstar open their pistes on November 16th and have also received heavy falls. The Colorado resorts have yet to feel the full impact of winter but Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Breckenridge have all had a dusting over the last week.

Canada Snow Report

Whistler hasn’t received any major snow yet. Moderate to light falls are expected further inland BC at Kicking Horse and Red Mountain.

Europe

The heavy snow that fell in the Alps last week has melted in many places but more snow is expected in later this week. In France Tignes is fully open with 40cm at the summit. Les Deux Alpes has 20cm and opens on Decmber 1st. In Austria Hintertux, Stubai, Solden, Kaprun and Pitztal are all in operation. Temperatures in the valleys are high though, it was 25 degrees in Innsbruck this week. The Swiss resort of Sass-Fee has 125cm of the snow on the upper slopes and has six lifts open and Zermatt, which has 110cm of snow at the top, has seven lifts in operation. In Italia small to moderate snow falls are expected later this week and into the weekend. Passio Stelvio resort is open.
