The first snow has already fallen in the Alps and resorts are open for some early season skiing.The Tirol in Austria has seen 60cm of snow already – as these photos show. The Pitztal Glacier, the highest in Austria, has seen 45 cm of snow, while the Kaunertaler Glacier and Stubaier Glacier are open too.
Meanwhile on the other side of the Atlantic, Mammoth Lakes, California have had their first snow too. A light dusting covered the resort, which is due to open on 8 November.
