Keela Belay Pro Jacket
The Keela Belay pro is an ideal companion for climbing as the name suggests but is equally suitable to winter sports and other outdoor activities.
Following the trend of other thermal jackets the Belay Pro has a windproof and water resistant outer making it a versatile bit of kit that we've successfully put to use as an outer layer in mild weather.
The drawcord-adjustable hem and Velcro cuffs allow you to adjust the Belay Pro to fit under a jacket and to keep the warmth in. The collar, not being lined, isn't as comfortable as some we've tested but it is drawcord-adjustable for those seriously cold days!
The Belay Pro utilises a thermal filling of 133 g/m2 of Primaloft One which falls slightly short of the insulating performance of down when dry but outperforms it when wet.
The Belay Pro is a touch heavy compared to its rivals on test here and also not quite as packable but not so much so that it's a deal breaker.
The real draw to the Belay Pro is its excellent value, it's less than half the price of other insulated jackets on test, yet it performs more or less on a par with most in the critical areas of keeping you warm and dry.
