Norrona Tamok ski pants
Assuming you don't mind understated blues and browns instead of Norrona's usual eye-watering colourways, you'll probably love the Tamok - especially if freeride and backcountry are your thing, which is what they're essentially designed for.
The three-layer Gore-tex shell does a fine job of keeping the weather out and ensuring you stay dry and comfortable, whether hooning downhill or slogging uphill, and the Tamok's relatively loose cut allows plenty of freedom of movement.
The pockets are well thought-out, with two cargo pockets, two hand pockets and one rear pocket; all have waterproof zips and the cargo pockets have mesh-backed zippered vents on the side too.
There are also zipped inside leg vents with mesh backing, so temperature regulation is quick and easy in the Tamoks.
Other details include a zip and 'snap seal' powder skirt system which integrates with Norrona jackets, Velcro waist adjusters along with large, riveted belt loops, snow gaiters, inside reinforcements on the lower leg and Cordura armour around the boot cuff.
Our only minor gripe with these otherwise excellent ski pants was that the zippered adjuster on the lower leg has the zipper pull on the inside rather than the outside, making it a bit fiddly to operate, especially with gloved hands. But we can live with that...
