Great fit and one of the best hoods we tested
An internal stash pocket would be useful

The Isogaisa feels just right as soon as you slip it on, and once you're fully zipped up the asymmetric main zip gives a really snug, comfortable fit whilst the helmet-compatible hood does a great job of keeping out the elements and provides excellent peripheral vision.

The jacket is made from the same three-layer, waterproof, windproof and breathable Dermizax fabric as the Bergans Sirdal ski pants that we have also tested, and is designed to be attached to them with the detachable powder skirt.

This effectively give you a snow suit which provides superb protection from the weather as well as offering excellent freedom of movement thanks to a combination of good design and two-way stretch fabric; and if you don't have the matching pants the jacket still works just fine on its own.

Ventilation is provided via two long underarm zipped vents as well as mesh linings in the two zipped handwarmer pockets and chest pocket, and the pockets are designed to be accessible while wearing a pack.

There are two more pockets in the form of a zipped lift pass pocket on the left sleeve and a zipped inner security pocket. An inner stash pocket would have been useful but that was about the only criticism we had of the Isogaisa.

Additional features include a detachable snow-skirt, in-built Recco reflector, articulated elbows, Velcro wrist adjustment on the cuffs and a one-hand elastic drawstring at the hem. An extended back helps to add to the warmth factor and there's reflective detailing as an added extra.

In use the Isogaisa is one of those ski jackets that just feels right, from being totally comfortable when all battened down to having pockets and other features in just the right place, so you don't have to think about how to use it - you can just forget about it and focus on your riding.
