you feel snug as the proverbial bug once you're fully zipped up
rather bulky and heavy for serious winter sports

Designed exclusively for Bear Grylls, the Polar jacket features a mix of synthetic and 500-fill power down insulation plus a faux fur trim around the hood. It's a pretty bulky jacket for skiing in, but it's obviously designed with that in mind since it comes with a powder skirt.

The Aquadry fabric is waterproof and breathable and the seams are taped, and you get a stack of pockets (eight outer pockets in total plus a zipped inner pocket) and useful features such as inner storm cuffs, adjustable waist, hem and cuffs and a brushed chin guard.

Zipped into the jacket and with the hood up you do feel very protected from the cold and whilst for me the Polar Jacket is a little too warm and bulky for serious skiing, if you feel the cold and like to be well-insulated it might well suit you.
