As always with Result you get a hell of a lot for your money with the Kelvin, which isn’t technically a ski jacket so much as a general ‘three-in-one outdoor jacket’, but it will work well for anyone looking for a good value bit of kit that they can use year round.

And it comes in men's and women's versions, the women's being the one we've featured here.

Result market the Kelvin as a heavyweight waterproof, breathable jacket and heavy it is, although that’s no surprise considering the outer jacket has a taffeta lining and the inner features a 280g/m² Micro Active Fleece lining.

There’s a huge range of features including taped seams, a concealed fully lined hood in the collar with drawcord adjuster, a zip system for attaching the inner jacket, two spacious front pockets, two equally generous chest pockets and three inner pockets and adjustable cuffs and hem.

It’s all going to be a bit too busy, heavy and bulky if you’re looking to do some serious riding, but for beginner skiers and boarders looking for a jacket which will serve more than one purpose you can’t go far wrong at this price.
