Burton Custom Flying V 2016-17
The wavy profile of the Burton Custom Flying V makes for a versatile ride and ensures the board is a complete all-rounder - a near perfect score for a true all-mountain board.
Slightly stiffer than its Process cousin, it attacks the mountain like Rambo on a bad day, with good stability and hardly a vibration felt underfoot, even at speed. On those lazy spring bluebird days, the board allows you to chill with a mellower ride.
Turn initiation, helped by Burton's Channel system, is fast even in a tight circumference, and handles long arced carves well but we are not so sure whether the edges would fully lock-in on hard packed snow.
It is also excellent for cutting through and soaking up bumpy terrain. Heading off-piste and into powder, the board has amazing buoyancy with such minimum effort.
The 'V' is also not bad for jibbing and has great pop. But where it excels is on the kickers, whether natural side hits or in the park, the Flying V is super stable and rights any wrongs, even with a complete washed out landing.
