If there's ever such a thing as a true 'one ski do it all' model then the Dynastar Powertrack 84 is certainly a contender.

Sure, it's not going to stand up to a racer who's cranking up the high-speed carve turns through a GS course, or a Freeride skier hucking it down an Alaskan spine - but it pretty much covers everything in the middle.

For an intermediate skier who has aspirations towards all-mountain skiing, moguls and off-piste, but enjoys sticking to the groomed slopes much of the time, it's an ideal choice.

For all terrain versatility, they score right up there with the highest points - they're a true all mountain ski that genuinely seems as happy on the piste as they do off the side of it.

They are also easy to turn, forgiving in the tip, that's slightly rockered, and playful in softer snow conditions, perfect for getting into the moguls and improving technique.

The wood core ensures torsional power, making the ski suitable for advanced skiers who want to push things that bit harder, but we found they enjoyed turning at slower speeds more than at the higher ones.

Overall we were really impressed with this ski. It's like a dependable friend, always there when you need them, reliable and stable - but like a good friend, you wouldn't want to push them too hard either.
