Performance on-piste and higher levels

Aimed at advanced women skiers, the Faction Heroine is an all mountain ski with a freeride heritage that would suit seasonaire's and women skiers who like to ride all parts of the mountain, in all conditions. That's what Faction label them for and we feel that's spot on.

They feel especially at home in powder snow conditions and the more we push them, the more confidence we gained - hitting lumps and jumps and gaining air time, so much fun. Get them in the park and they are perfectly happy not touching the ground too, these are skis that would suit a creative rider stamping down their own style across the mountain. In that respect, they really are true freeride skis.

On groomed runs the turns are smooth and easy, with good edge grip and a nice balance from initiation right through to the change in direction. They do tend to lack power at the higher end of the performance spectrum though, especially at higher speeds on hardpack snow - so if it's piste performance you're looking for, then there's more suitable models in the all mountain category. In powder snow and variable off-piste conditions, they're really stable with a good amount of float aided by the tip rocker and 90mm waist.

Faction have priced them well, they are good value for money at £389 flat and performance for the price doesn't feel in anyway compromised. Their modest rack appeal looks great without being too flashy.

Perfect skis for all mountain access, advanced younger female skier who wants to create their own style and take control of the mountain.
