Despite the fact that Nordica's new style Enforcer is a serious ski, in the sense of build (wood core with two metal top sheets), ensuring its on-piste performance is first class - they are also highly accessible to a wide range of skier ability levels.

Any aspiring freeride skier will be able to handle them, but crank it up and you'll find there's a beast under the bonnet just waiting to leap into action.

The edge hold on groomed slopes is astounding for a ski this wide and although they prefer long carving style turns, they switch into 'slalom mode' instantly with a level of agility and responsiveness seconded to no other ski out there.

But we are talking about the piste and that's not even where their spiritual home lies - get them away from it all and they show their true colours. Crud - they blast through it, powder - they glide effortlessly and anything else they just take in their stride, leaving you to enjoy the ride.

They are a bit of handful in moguls due to the strength and camber of the ski, but any skier with good technique won't have too many issues.

If you're considering purchasing one ski to do it all this winter and your preference is off-piste skiing - but you want a ski that's fun on-piste all day long too, then the Enforcer is right up there on the top of our list. It's a ski for serious skiers, made by serious skiers.
