If you're looking for a pure piste ski with plenty of responsiveness you'll probably like the Black Majic - it's a lively little number that throws you out of turns (in a good way), but it has to be handled with a tad of caution at high speed as it can get skittery if you apply too much gas.
With that in mind the longer length options are probably better, as they have more torsional stiffness, so you may want to consider something a few centimetres longer than your usual plank length.
So, expect to find the Black Majic's very good edge hold performing at its best when you're not hammering along at full speed.
Indeed, slow things down a bit and you can really lay down the short radius turns with aplomb, as the ski becomes increasingly playful when used like this - in these conditions it got full marks for 'liveliness and responsiveness'.
At £500 without bindings it's one of the more expensive piste skis we tested, and the rather utilitarian graphics won't appeal to everyone, but if you like your turns to be tight, controlled and zippy the Black Majic is worth checking out.
