We all know about traditional Savoyard fayre. We’ve all enjoyed a raclette or three. So it’s nice to taste something different: amazing Italian food, served with a grin. Authentic pizza on a sunny terrace. Delicious fresh pasta covered in shavings of the region’s classic Fontina cheese, washed down with a tasty local red wine.
There’s plenty of choice, from Michelin-starred to takeaway wrapped. All delicious. It’s no wonder our very own Valentine Warner is the Aosta Valley’s culinary ambassador.
Here’s a picture: you, reclining on a sun terrace with a view of the Matterhorn straight ahead. Tucking into a slice of pizza to fuel up before a spot of heliskiing. Feeling the jangle of spare change in your pocket. If it’s a picture you like the sound of, the Aosta Valley should be top of your ‘where to next’ list.
