If you're looking for a 'winter' jacket as much as a riding jacket the Folsom is a good option with its urban style, and it's also good value given the stack of features it offers.
The rugged 'Dryride' outer is a two-layer 40% recycled polyester plain weave fabric with a patterned and insulated lining consisting of printed taffeta and solid woven panels with corduroy detailing, and all seams are fully taped - it's all pretty warm and cosy once you're zipped up inside, that's for sure.
The Folsom is packed with features. Listing them from the top, there's an adjustable hood, although it's pretty loose and doesn't give the best peripheral vision; stacks of pockets - six outer with zips or Velcro closures (two chest, two midriff, two handwarmer), and three internal pockets including one goggle pocket and one media pocket.
There's a removable powder skirt, jacket-pant interface poppers, mesh-lined pit zips and large Velcro cuff adjusters which can be used easily with gloved hands.
All of this adds weight and bulk to what is already quite a voluminous jacket, but the Folsom is not pretending to be anything other than a big, warm, winter jacket - so if that's what you're after, and especially if you want a good value jacket that will look just as cool walking down the High Street as sitting on a chair lift, then take a look at the Folsom.
