The Gnu Velvet Gnuru is best suited to the more advanced female recreational freestyle rider as effort does need to be asserted, but what is put in, you get back with interest.

It has Gnu's patented Banana technology with its original all-terrain Rocker/Camber Hybrid profile. It is an asymmetrical twin with rocker between the feet and elliptical camber out to the contacts. The rocker gives the Velvet Gnuru the fun factor with butters and presses, while the mellow camber lets you cruise the groomers with comfort. It rides okay in powder but you wouldn't want to take it too deep.

The board feels very stable between the feet and has an easy turn initiation, is responsive and flexible enough to play around on. The 'Magne-Traction' seated edges work well with edge hold and really lock in on hard packed snow or ice. The camber doesn't make it the most forgiving of boards but it will treat you well if given respect.

It is hard to pigeon-hole the Velvet Gnuru as it has both freestyle and all-mountain characteristics, but at its heart it's still a freestyle board - great for park laps and fun for jibbing.
