The Hel by Yes snowboards is a Freeride board designed for Canadian pro Helen Schettini to ride the back country. First impressions out in the morning powder were that is was effortless to keep afloat and in control in the deep stuff. The extra lift in the front of the board seemed to make life much easier.
Due to late spring conditions we were really able to put this board through its paces across all conditions, and we're pleased to say it got top marks across the board. Edge hold was grippy and precise, even through choppier terrain, and riding through slush was a lot of fun.
The Hel will suit the more advanced snowboarder looking for a serious freeriding board that is also capable of handling freestyle terrain.
Nothing bad to report about this board. Only we'd say beginners should look elsewhere. A great bit of kit!
