We headed out to the sidecountry to test the Blizzard Bodacious 186 and the (minor) effort was well worth it as this big-mountain ski gave us a big-mountain experience within shouting distance of the pistes

As you might expect from a ski with 118mm underfoot the Bodacious likes the pow, and floats through it with ease. It pays to work the ski as you'll get more back from it, especially in long, arcing turns when it's a joy to ride.

It also responded well in the cruddy, heavy snow we found at lower levels, providing a smooth, lively ride.

We can see this being a ski that a lot of big-mountain riders will go for this season as it's not so overtly backcountry-oriented as some of the really wide skis and consequently will give you lots of fun in less than ideal conditions. That said, with a length of 186cm it may not appeal too much to shorter riders.

Oh, one last thing - the Bodacious has nice graphics too.
