We decided to review the tried and tested Peacemaker from Blizzard during our 2016 on snow ski test in Kuhtai, Austria - quickly realising we should have ridden it during previous winters as well.

If you've been fighting with an answer to your freeride ski options and not yet tried Blizzard's Peacemaker, then perhaps now's the time to put down your weapons and surrender to what became one of our favourite skis of 2016.

It's a complete package - an all-round ski that floats though powder, grips on hard pack snow, feels stable but super responsive in all conditions and is easy to turn.

With a 104mm waist they are more than enough for most skiers, in most conditions off-piste. Sure, if you're skiing big faces in the Alps or the Rockies and you want to travel at high speeds down super steep faces for the movie cameras then perhaps they are slightly underpowered - but if that's you then you wouldn't be buying your skis anyway.

The Bodacious at 118mm under foot is also a great ski, but the Peacemaker is so much more versatile and handles groomed runs like it was auditioning for a World Cup GS race.

The bamboo and polar wood core means the skis remain light despite their large surface area with a mild rocker at the tip and tail and a camber in the middle, the skis initiate turns with ease but retain control and grip at the same time.

If you're at war with the mountain then you know just what you need to do about it now.
