In a tightly contested category this Big Mountain ski was up against some tough competition, but it proved a real winner for us.

Faction Skis are based in Verbier, Switzerland and specialise in freestyle and Freeride skis. The Candide 3.0 is named after the pro freestyle skier and Faction Developer, Candide Thovex, who skis like something out of a video game designed for teenage boys (that’s a compliment by the way).

The Candide 3.0 are designed for multi-purpose use in both park and big mountain terrain. At first glance they might not seem up to the job, very light weight and the twin tip and duel rockers make them look a little too park and not enough big mountain. But looks deceive and it turns out that skiing on these is the most fun you’ll have, well, anywhere frankly.

They are so responsive, I really don’t think I've ever found a ski that turns so fast in powder, chopped up snow and bumps than these.

They don’t handle groomed runs quite as well as others in the category, but who cares when you have the rest of the mountain to play on with these on your feet.
