We like to think that we have a strong instinct for sniffing out a decent ski, so when we jumped on Head's Strong Instinct, our sense of smell went into overdrive.
Despite the non-traditional composite core, first impressions scream stability and power, so you can turn the volume up quickly and feel secure. For lighter weight men, we think they are an ideal on-piste, high octane ski that is happy to be steered into some deeper snow if and when there's an opportunity to do so. There's a question mark over the response for larger chaps who might like a heavier ski though, although one of our test team, Bruce, at xx and xx felt very comfortable at all speeds.
Edge hold on hard packed snow is solid, with a nice rebound making them playful and responsive in both short and long radius turns. They are not afraid to go fast, so providing you're capable and conditions allow, then the only limit will be your ability to hold your nerve - please stay safe and consider other skiers.
If the performance is all about brawn then the construction is more about brains - the core contains Graphene, the strongest material on the planet, stronger than diamond and 300 times stronger than steel, all in the thickness of one atom. Cool eh?
