The W Kart from Salomon is an on-piste carver that is easy to turn and is excellent value for money. A women’s specific model for advanced to expert skiers who want to stay on-piste. It performed well during our 2013 on-snow ski test in Austria.

The Salomon W Kart is a pure piste ski that likes nothing more than carving short, quick turns on a groomed surface.

The wood core provides a stable and strong ride at higher speeds too and testers were impressed with the edge grip on harder packed snow.

It feels smooth to ski on and responds well to slalom style, short radius turns, but is also happy with longer radius carving if that’s what you’re into.

They are also good value with a really competitive price compared to similar skis in their category. They might look a little bit retro, but in terms of performance, there’s nothing old fashioned about the W Kart.

They’d suit an advanced female skier who loves to carve the pistes up and wants an easy turning but responsive ski.
