new airline powdair launches new ski flights to switzerland from multiple uk airports

Based in Sion, in the heart of Switzerland's Valais winter sport region, new airline Powdair will offer skiers and snowboarders in the UK, Northern Germany and the Benelux countries a new, quicker route to the slopes this season.

From December 14, 2017, the Swiss resorts of Zermatt, Verbier, Saas Fee, Crans Montana and Nendaz will all be easier to access, with a variety of transfer options from Sion to resort bookable at the point of flight ticket purchase.

The eight airports that will be served by Powdair are London Luton, London Southend, Southampton, Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh as well as Antwerp and Hamburg.

Powdair is a single class airline and not categorised as a 'Budget Airline', with average fare prices of around £140.

Flight times to Sion from UK airports are typically between 1 hour 25 minutes and 2 hours.

Another bonus for British skiers is that checked baggage allowance is 23kg and carriage of skis or snowboard is included in the ticket price.
