Bergans Sirdal shell pants
The Sirdal is constructed from Bergans' award winning three-layer Dermizax fabric which has excellent waterproofing and breathability as well as offering useful two-way stretch for greater freedom of movement. It's also somewhat softer than some other shells, although this isn't that big a deal since you'll invariably be wearing a base layer underneath the Sirdal.
The pants have attachment points for Bergans ski jackets, but this can be zipped off if you don't wish to use it; there are also attachments at the waist for braces, or you can just use the combination of elasticated Velcro waist adjusters and belt loops to hold them up.
The fit is quite loose and they look pretty sharp, and the various features are well thought out and practical rather than just there to look good.
These include two zipped hand pockets with mesh liners for breathability in warmer conditions along with venting zips on the inner thighs, a good sized cargo pocket on each thigh which comes with Velcro fastening and a bellows style closure to prevent snow ingress, and articulated knees.
Beneath this are generously sized zip/Velcro openings that run all the way from knee to ankle, thus making on-the-go boot adjustments that bit easier, scuff pads and a fixed internal gaiter with very sticky friction elastic to keep them in place against your boots.
Finally, you get a built-in Recco reflector too, so that all-in-all the Sirdal is a really well made, good looking ski pant that performs well in all conditions.
