The Lange XT130 is designed for skiers looking for performance but with the ability to allow easy walking in the backcountry.

Performance is right up there with the RS race models, but the extra walk mode means getting up those gnarly routes and over rocky terrain is more comfortable, safer and easier.

The soles are designed to be very durable and provide excellent grip over all types of surfaces. I found them very comfortable to wear as well as being highly supportive around the ankle. The flex, at 130, is enough for most expert skiers and on groomed slopes, the response is immediate and precise.

What I’ve always liked about Lange boots is the heel retention and these models don’t let me down. I have quite small feet and often find my heels lift in other makes of ski boot, I don’t get that issue with Lange boots.

The lightweight buckles are strong and easy to put on and the inner comes with a lace up front. This feature for me is not really necessary, although it does seem to provide some extra support when the laces are pulled in.

I would really recommend these boots for anyone who likes to ski both groomed runs and backcountry terrain. It would suit an advanced to expert skier who’s aggressive with their turns, but also handles well for lighter weight skiers who like quick and active response.
