Kept riding up, though possibly slightly too tight

The first time you put the Custard Skin on, the material for this base layer seems slightly thick, however, when you find out it's for improved durability and comfort for use while surfing as well as all other outdoor pursuits, then it seems there's more to this top than bright colours and a jazzy name!

Constructed of 90% polyester and 10% Elastane Quad Stretch it's very quick drying, machine washable and has a 'next-to-skin' compression fit which aims to aid blood circulation and muscle recovery. I tested the Custard Skin while out running on a cold morning and found I was nice and warm (with a light outer layer) and kept a constant temperature without over-heating once starting to sweat.

The only thing to note was having to constantly pull it down from riding up but this may not be such an issue for watersports, where it will be held in place by a wetsuit. Overall it performs very well and is excellent value compared to other top brands. The base layer is available in black or bright 'custard yellow'.
