The Dakine Continental are Gore Tex equipped gauntlet style gloves built for demanding mountain days both in resort and in the backcountry.

The Continental gloves have a fantastic fit, especially considering the removable liner which could have led to sloppiness, but everything inside feels tailored and precise. For such a big glove dexterity in the fingers is excellent, this may not be massively important to you, but if you do a lot of backcountry riding or ski touring/splitboarding then the chances are you'll want to be able to tweak things and grab at buckles and zips with your gloves on, and the Continentals allow you to do just that without too much fuss.

Removeable liners are such a great idea if you do lots of ski days as they allow you to wash the stinky part of the glove without damaging the precious outer. It's super easy to pull the liner from the continentals with just a couple of Velcro strips holding them in place and they can be easily freshened up with a quick hand wash. The liner is a sumptuously soft layer of 150g fleece with 80g of warm Primaloft insulation inside, which is as pleasant as it sounds. On cold days it keeps even the tips of your fingers warm and when the going gets tough the technical materials manage to breathe pretty well.

The outer material is goat leather with a DWR treatment, which looks and feels lovely and is also durable. We love the colour combo on our test pair which have brown leather and contrasting teal softshell gauntlets.

Adjustment comes from two points; a Velcro closure around the wrist and a drawstring at the end of the cuff. These both work impeccably well, holding fast in cold, wet conditions and are both easily adjusted with a gloved hand.

A Gore-Tex membrane takes care of waterproofing and, when combined with the DWR leather palm and long cuff, this ensures that no moisture creeps in.

Overall the Continentals are absolutely fantastic snowboarding gloves, built to last, warm and waterproof and with a great fit, making them well worth the £115 asking price.
