They have always had a strong ski division with many loyal followers, especially seasonaires and back-country skiers. But more recently, other brands seemed to have taken over this mantle.
The Primo range sees a strong return to form though and its bright colouring and classic look retains the Patagonia feel that fans will associate with. The durable, waterproof and breathable fabric is one of the most wind-proof materials I’ve worn and although it’s not a lightweight shell, there seems no restriction of movement when skiing.
Patagonia have managed to retain their ‘hard core’ image and survived to be one of the major players in ski wear, the investment is worthwhile as I have no doubt that a Primo ski suit will outlast many tough winter ski seasons.
