Atomic's female specific Vantage is a lovely forgiving ski for any intermediate skier wanting to explore and improve. We were impressed by the smooth turn initiation and very trustworthy edge hold, perfect for building confidence and technique on the piste.
The vantage has an all mountain rocker (10/90/0), with a slight rise in the tip and a traditional camber through the rest of the ski. This is great for on piste performance, while the slight rocker makes variable conditions more manageable.
Atomic have used their Prolite technology for a lighter construction with added reinforcements in key areas. The light Poplar wood core is then complimented by a carbon tank mesh and energy backbone to retain stiffness and stability. These features give superior performance, especially in hard conditions. The Vantage also has a full sidewall for precise steering. This is used in all of their high-performance race and piste skis.
At £350 the Vantage 86 C is a good value progression ski that will help to build confidence and performance on piste. We were a little disappointed by the float of the ski and reckon it would be hard going in deep or heavy conditions, but for a taste of gentle off piste it is just the ticket!
