Head have done a great job of staggering their range this year, allowing for more progression on each ski. They have also endeavoured to reduce the technical variance between beginner and advanced skis and the Absolut Joy have really benefited from this, inheriting some great tech features from higher up the range while still maintaining their user-friendly nature.
The Absolut Joy has been developed with a wood composite core which makes it slightly more expensive than the Pure Joy lower down the range, but the better-quality material makes the skis more durable. A Graphene Power Sidewall ensures the Absolut Joy maintains a lightweight feel and provides a more forgiving ride for progressing beginners who are just starting to gain confidence on red runs.
If Marie Kondo was just as passionate about skiing as she is about cleaning, then I am sure she would agree with me that these skis really do "spark joy".
