With touches like the Tuff Wall sidewalls and PNP Rocker, the Head Caddy is a capable and versatile ski that covers the mountain with ease - with the odd backflip thrown in.
The 84mm waist is slimmer than the average park ski which means the Caddy would also work well as an all mountain ski for the intermediate-to-advanced skier. With a medium flex and the ISS (Independent Suspension System) which uses elastomeric vibration dampeners along the ski to reduce chatter, the Caddy offers an all-mountainesque smooth ride and decent edge hold on piste.
Head have positioned the Caddy as a unisex ski and the choice of lengths is definitely limited for smaller, lighter riders. Coming in at 171, 176 or 181, the Head Caddy may just be a bit too long for teenagers and/or female skiers who prefer something shorter. There is the option of the Caddy JR which is offered in the 131-171 range, but we doubt there are many adults out there who will be comfortable shelling out for a junior ski.
In terms of construction, it's definitely legit. Head's Tuff Walls are an ABS impact resistant sidewall construction are super robust and combined with the UHM base that rides fast and hard, the Head Caddy is built to withstand and endure. The PNP Rocker, with a traditional camber underfoot makes the ski feel playful with a good amount of pop and the light swing weight is equally impressive. Trick initiation is simple and the medium flex works well on landings.
At £470 with bindings and a whole bunch of technologies designed to keep the ski up in the air and buttering around the hill, the Head Caddy is a great choice as long as you can deal with the extra length. Keep it strictly in the park or venture further around the mountain, the Caddy is built to carry you around and do it in style.
