The clear intent of the designers to make something that lives up to the all mountain designation
Nothing

Head have approached the all mountain category with a plan this season; in a vertical which often seems like a dumping ground for unneeded piste skis, and freeride skis that are a bit too narrow, it's exciting to see an all mountain model that is specifically designed as a crossover.

And the V-Shape V10 is a clever crossover between something with the piste-power of the Supershape Titan and the float and flex of the Kore freeride range. The Lytech construction taken from the Kore helps to keep the weight low without sacrificing the character of the freeride flex. And with dimensions and shape akin to the superbly rated Supershape Titan, it retains something of its incredible edge hold and dexterity on the hardpack.

The V-Shape V10 also carries over the pop and playfulness of the Kore range and 85mm underfoot with a great sidecut makes for a genuinely versatile, piste-biased all mountain ride.

Naturally the ski ends up being a compromise, but it's a targeted, designed compromise which really does take the best from both worlds and combines them to great effect. And that makes the price tag highly palatable too.
