Their float in off-piste was just outstanding - so impressed by these skis.
We had to take them back and test something else.

K2 are a long established brand that has made great quality skis since 1962, but does the Pinnacle 105 live up to the pedigree that we come to expect from them?

The Pinnacle 105 are labelled as 'Go Anywhere All Mountain Skis', although at 105mm under foot, with a long tapered tip, rocker and slight camber, you would easily mistake them for classic freeride skis.... but freeride they do. They really do.

In off-piste terrain they excel as a freeride tool for the initiated powder skiing aficionado. Light, lively, easy to turn and so much fun, you can just change direction on a penny (or a Krona as applicable to one of our Norwegian resident testers) and they respond to your slightest command - real all day skis for all kinds of conditions.

When you get the chance to let them go in open terrain, the Pinnacle 105 is stable enough to give you the confidence to charge, the tip sucking up any undulations in the snow that may pop up to challenge you, including full-on moguls which it seems to handle with ease.

What really surprises us is how they perform on groomed slopes, not at all feeling like the 105mm wide ski they are - cranking turns on hardpack, firmly placing them in the one ski quiver category. Are they true all mountain skis? Yes they are and combined with a classic K2 look and a great price, they're a true winner too.
