Very nimble for a ski of this size.
That light nose can vibrate a bit at speed.

The K2 Pinnacle 105 Ti looks like it's going to be a fun ride straight out of the rack and it does not disappoint.

At 105mm wide under the bindings, the ski is aimed firmly at the freeride market, although there is a 118 option if you want go even wider and deeper, while 95, 88 and 85 versions should cater to those leaning towards a more all-mountain performance.

Despite its width, the Pinnacle 105 Ti is still a hoot on piste and responds nicely along its edge (you can have it in four lengths ranging from 170 to 191cm) when pressed into long giant slalom turns.

But obviously this ski's forte is being taken away from the groomers and into the softer stuff. After all, it is what it's meant for.

The Pinnacle 105 Ti has a low swing weight and is easy to turn, helped by a large dose of rocker in the nose. That can make it a bit flappy at high speed but the pay-off is lots of lift and float.

K2 have changed the core composition a little this season, swapping the aspen/paulownia wood for fir to go with its high-tech Nanolite and more traditional titanal.

A lot of the heavier and stiffer material is laid over the edges, all supported with the strength of triaxial braided fibreglass.

All in all the Pinnacle 105 Ti is an excellent freeride ski, with its £550 price - although without bindings - adding to the attraction.
