The Nordica Dobermann Spitfire Pro is hybrid of a GS and Slalom race ski, with an oversized tip for short turns and a GS waist for longer radius turns. It offers the power and edge hold of a race ski but with a more versatile side-cut that allows you to mix up the radius of turn.
The construction is a woodcore sandwiched between two titanium sheets, which gives it the torsional stiffenss and rebound out of the turns. Plus, they come with the World Cup designed Recoil Power Plate which improves the ski flex under the boot.
The tip of the ski is known as the Dynamic Race Shovel and is slightly lower yet longer than a standard race tip, which makes it easier to control in cruddy conditions.
The Dobermann Spitfire Pros are great at short turns on the steep slopes - they feel super-stable and it is easy to stay centred over the middle of the ski. In medium or longer radius turns they invite you to lay them over and create big edge angles from the hip, leaving two perfect railway tracks in the snow.
They do feel comfortable at slow speeds and are not catchy in any way, but to get the best out of them, you do need to ski them hard and fast.
Overall a serious ski that's great for riders who are up for a no holds barred race down the mountain.
