The Black Majic from Scott Sports is a brand new model in their collection for the 2014-15 winter ski season. They really impressed our test team when they tried them on snow for the first time in February 2014 and although they're designed purely for the piste, they also performed surprisingly well on variable terrain.

The majority of Scott Sports' ski collection is targeted at the all-mountain and freeride categories, but the recently added Black Majic, adds a pure on-piste performance model to the range.

One of our testers commented: 'They're really responsive on short radius turns and smooth on the longer ones.' Another said; 'Easy to turn, yet holds the edge fantastically at high speeds - great fun!'

They would suit a high-level expert skier who wants to enjoy the groomed slopes but doesn't require a full-on race ski or something too demanding.

A strong intermediate skier would be able to handle them too, especially as the 'pro-tip' rocker helps make the initiation of the turn so easy.

Definitely one of the most fun skis we tested this year.
