French ski brand White Doctor has produced an all mountain ski for experts that impressed reviewers during our 2014 on snow test. They are powerful and stable at higher speeds, but enjoy more variable terrain and feel lively and responsive off-piste.

White Doctor skis originate from Serre Chavalier in the French Alps and started up in 2007. This relatively new company has now established itself as a serious brand with some impressive skis targeted at the all mountain and freeride markets.

The FT9 (Flat Tail) is an all-mountain charger which is geared towards expert skiers.

We were really impressed with this ski, and found it to be powerful on groomed slopes but then able to handle well on variable terrain - making it feel nimble and light.

At 92mm underfoot, the FT9 fits into a classic all-mountain category and seems to perform well in all areas - although they wouldn't be a first choice for skiing powder all day long. But if you're a strong skier looking for a versatile ski this certainly fits the bill, making it a good instructor choice or seasonaire ski for the front side of the hill.
