Salomon X-Tend goggles, with Zeiss lenses, not only look cool but on test gave the best all round vision of any 2015 goggles we reviewed. Designed to sit perfectly on any helmet, the X-Tends are a great high-spec choice.

Available in many colours and with many different lens choices, ranging from photochromic lenses which change according to light levels, to polarized, solar, universal and low light specific lenses, the X-Tend frame range is built to suit all eventualities.

We tested the solar lens version, and found the glare protection in sunny conditions second to none. The downside to the solar lens was that in lower light conditions they had a tendency to make everything look a little grey.

The X-Tend frames sit perfectly on your face; which is surprising given the snug fit. Field of vision is excellent with the low profile of the foam and shape of the goggles meaning that the only part of the frame you can see is the bit sitting over your nose.

The strap has a silicon strip on the inside, which gives great grip on your helmet, even when you lift them up away from your eyes. The Zeiss spherical lenses are multi layered, anti-scratch and are easily changeable.

Quite simply a very good pair of goggles and well worth the investment.
