Overall Score

The Black Diamond Coefficient Hoodie is one of those bits of kit you kind of forget about – but for positive reasons.

When you’re wearing it the light weight, low-profile design and enhanced breathability of the Polartec Power Dry High Efficiency fleece fabric allow you to move easily and comfortably whilst at the same time staying warm.

It also dries quickly, and packs away nice and small when not in use (as well as weighing only 345g), making it an ideal layering garment, especially for ski mountaineering, ski touring and the like.

Features include an under-the-helmet hood, snug chamois-lined neck, zipped chest pocket and stretch cuffs. My only reservation was that the fit – I wore a large, my normal size, and it was very much on the snug side, so you may need to go up a size.
