Part of the 'Friends' line, the Under pant favours great looks and an easy going nature over out-and-out tech. As an example, all the pockets use storm flaps rather than waterproof zips and seams are only critically taped. There are also no less than four 'faux' pockets hinting at simple styling rather than pure function. But if looks and a seriously fashionable brand are high on your list of priorities then you'll do alright with the Under Pant - the soft and supple Dryplay fabric and baggy cut make them comfortable for the whole day and 10k breathability and waterproofing is not to be sniffed at.
We love the stretchy cammo print semi-bib like waist which poppers shut and adds a little extra protection from snow, and the built-in belt is genius, using chunky lacing and drawcord runners to keep the pants up.
A deep cargo pocket on one of the thighs and zipped hand pockets keep your kit safe, and down below there's adjustment via poppers for your boots and a hook for your laces, built into the snow gaiters. Inner mesh lined leg vents provide decent airflow when things heat up, in fact the Under pants are generally good at dealing with sweaty pins despite their middling breathability rating.
Picture are hot on their sustainability and eco credentials, and this ethos is built in to the Under Pant with a full compliment of recycled fabrics and a PFC free DWR treatment so you can ski with a clearer conscience.
Overall a good value, durable option for people who value looks as much as performance in their ski gear.
