The Salomon Soulquest BC Down jacket is part of the Salomon Lab Series, and as such is a high end piece of kit that's at home in any serious mountain range. It offers excellent waterproofing and big mountain parker warmth, yet, at only 625g, it packs up into a tiny stuff bag.

This is perfect for ski touring, as side vents can be opened for the ascents, while the easy to adjust cuffs with integrated thumb holes, and helmet compatible adjustable 3D hood keep you snug and warm in bad weather.

It has all the standard in resort functionality too: lift pass pocket, inner mesh pocket, waterproof zipped outer pockets...

Our one reservation with the jacket is it's thin outer skin, which looks like it could tear if you found yourself scraping/hugging rocks on an summit ascent.

As at home on the piste as much as on a multiday, hut to hut, ski tour.
