The Dynastar Speed Zone 12 Ti is a high performance piste ski designed for skiers who like high speed on freshly groomed slopes. Equally adept at short or long turns but they work best if you ski them fast.
Dynastar claim the closest description to their skis construction is that they have been injected with a unique substance - life. Perhaps we can put that down to a loss in translation, but the skis do come with a polyurethane active air core, which is combined with wood for a lighter feel. The result is that they do have a very light feel, particularly at the start of the turn, but they respond very well once the pressure starts to build through the turn.
Heavy, aggressive skiers will not be disappointed as it is very hard to push the Speed Zone out of its comfort zone, but lighter more gentle skiers will also appreciate the finesse and feel at turn initiation.
All in all, it's quite hard to find much to fault with this on-piste carving machine, it feels stable and connected to the snow at all times with good edge hold and a superb, light feel. The only thing you might find yourself missing a bit of unpredictability.
