The Rossignol Saffron 7 is a women's freeride ski designed for expert riders who enjoy skiing the powder and want a strong tool for off-piste adventures. We tested it both on and off-piste during our 2014 ski test in Kuhtai, Austria.

Sister ski to the now legendary Soul 7, this freeride model will suit advanced and expert riders looking to explore the backcountry and rip up the powder on big faces, tight gullies and open glades.

'They are really reactive on the groomers but best suited to off-piste,' said a tester who also noted: 'The tips felt a bit flighty and didn't bite as much when trying to be quick and nimble.

'I also felt like I was being thrown into the back seat a bit and I had to consciously bring my weight forwards to get on top of them on groomed slopes.

'Far more suited to off piste where the light rocker Air tip and rocker tail come into their own. Great and float well when gliding through powder and straight-lining. Very pretty skis!'

Great seasonaire ski.
