The Rossignol Unique 6 has seen a weight reduction of more than 20 per cent in the last couple of years, supposedly because ladies like lighter skis as they're easier to both ski and carry. It didn't impress our reviewer though...

The Unique uses a polonium lightweight wood core and 'air channels' to keep the weight down and also has a large side cut for ease of turning and performance.

However our tester found the ski a bit 'waffy' for want of a better word. Edge grip on ice was pretty poor and they were chattery at speed, but they are easy to turn.

They'd work for a lady who likes to cruise about and is less aggressive - definitely more of a ski for a relaxed intermediate skier.
