The Codewall L from Volkl is like a wide race ski that just wants to have fun on piste. We took them for a spin during our 2014 ski test in Kuhtai, Austria and found them to be, well, fast!

If you want a ski that ramps up the velocity to levels you didn't even know existed, with the added bonus of some of the best edge grip you'll ever experience, then get hold of a pair of Volkl Speedwalls.

They're a powerful piste performance ski that would suit an advanced or expert skier who likes to carve out long, smooth turns at higher speeds on groomed slopes.

'I felt super-confident on these, even at high speeds - the edge grip was fantastic and they are fun to ski on, especially on wide open groomed slopes,' concluded one tester.

They won't get top marks in the powder, however, despite Volkl claiming they are an all-mountain ski. We'd recommend sticking to the groomed stuff with these skis.

Some advice - avoid them if you're not already at a confident, high-speed, skiing level....and always ski within your limits!
