The Volkl Kiku is our top ski in the women's Big Mountain category for the 2013-14 winter. During our 2013 on snow ski test in Austria, the Kiku impressed with its ability to perform in all conditions, but particularly on challenging off-piste terrain.

This was our favourite women’s ski on our 2013 on snow ski test in Kuhtai, Austria.

It came top of the Big Mountain category and impressed our female testers with its power, stability and control. This is a ski for experts only though; you need strong skills to get the most out of this ski as it thrives on steeps, powder fields and chopped up snow.

But put in just a little bit of effort and your return on investment pays dividends in excess of expectations. It’s not a hard ski to turn though and its lively feel made it score well on-piste too.

If you enjoy travelling fast on big open mountain faces then you've found a perfect partner here.

The Volkl Kiku would suit an expert skier, perhaps an instructor, who wants a true big mountain ski for all snow conditions, whether in the back corries of Cairngorm, the steep slopes of the Grands Montets, or the open faces of Alaska.
