You'll need a thick wallet if you go for the Volkl V-Werks RTM, but on test we found it to be one hell of a ski - so maybe it justifies the steep price tag.

This was one of the few skis we tested which got top marks in virtually every category - just so you know these included edge hold, long and short radius turns, high and low speed comfort and smoothness and response.

Given the high price tag you might expect this however.

One of the main reasons this is such a fun, responsive ski is that it's constructed from a carbon/titanium/aramid net composite which makes it a third lighter than most other comparable skis; but it's an expensive mix.

You really do feel the lightness of the V-Werks mind; in fact it hardly feels like you've got a pair of skis on as you blast into turns on the groomers and float through the deeper stuff off the side.

About our only criticism is that the graphics could be a little more exciting, but if money is no object this has got to be an all-mountain ski you should check out.
